Our story…
Michele:
The idea for a flower farm started with my love for gardening and the peace I’ve found in growing vegetables and flowers. Over time, that love has turned into a full-blown passion—okay, maybe even an obsession! Flowers bring so much joy and beauty into my life, and I can’t help but want to share that with others.
At the same time, I’ve been dreaming about creating a space where my son, and others with developmental disabilities, can learn and grow. The thought of turning that dream into something real—a place with training and maybe even jobs down the road—just felt right.
This farm isn’t just about flowers; it’s about building something meaningful that my son and I can enjoy together after I retire. It’s about sharing the beauty, joy, and creativity of flowers with my community and making a difference, one bloom at a time.
Kaitlyn:
I’ll be honest—my love for flowers has never quite matched Michele’s… until now. Okay, maybe it still doesn’t. Her love for flowers is intense! I used to even dread watering all her flowers when she went out of town—ha!
But over the years, I’ve come to see just how much joy flowers can bring. Growing up, my dad always gave my sister and me a bouquet of roses every Valentine’s Day. It was such a simple thing, but it meant so much. When he passed away in May of 2020, I found a lot of comfort in creating a space filled with flowers and bushes. I didn’t even know cut flower farms were a thing back then!
Then Michele took me to a flower farm in North Carolina, and I was hooked. Walking through the rows of flowers, soaking in the beauty and peace, and creating our own bouquets was an amazing experience. That’s when the idea of starting our own flower farm just clicked—and here we are!
We can’t wait to share that same joy with our community. Whether it’s walking through the fields, cutting your own flowers, or making a bouquet for someone special, we hope it brings others as much happiness as it’s brought us!
